Born in Jacksonville Florida, Carey Wright's passion for music and entertainment started at the age of 7. Seeing acts such as Run DMC, L. L. Cool J. and Out Kast showed Carey that there was more to becoming a big name rap act besides having a good song, you have to have a good performance to compliment the song. Carey chose the rap name "Cutta" because he felt it was a name that captured your interest like the lyrics in his songs. Cutta's Rap style is an up-tempo southern accented style that flows through the listener's ears. His story telling lyrics paints a vivid picture for the listener to better understand his song. His versatile content allows him to create music that anyone from any path of life can enjoy. While in a 2-man rap group called "Southern Boys," he was able to strike the interest of a promoter that booked the group a show at the New York State Fair and a famous comedy explosion "The New York Kings of Comedy." As a solo artist Cutta has gained a strong presence on the internet, by way of independent music sites on the web. His songs "Cut the Check" and “Swag On” was named "Track of the day" by GarageBand.Com. He also has multiple songs in rotation on "Live365.com," and a host of other independent radio sites on the internet. He moved to Atlanta in 2003 due to the rise in successful music acts. Performing in "Open Mic Nights" gained him exposure and interest from the Atlanta area, which led to performing at events from South Carolina to Georgia. In the month of May 2005, He was featured on the cover of "Atlanta Talent Magazine," a magazine promoting the hottest rising stars of Atlanta. Cutta is currently working hard in the studio creating songs that he post to the internet to feed his hungry fans as well as get constructive feedback from his peers and industry insiders on how he can improve as an artist. Cutta's goal is to get signed by a record company that will give him the creative space to record music that will restore the story-telling element of Hip Hop as such pioneers like Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh and Rakim.
